February and March on 35mm

Chicago, Illinois
Nikon FE and Polaroid 3000F // Kodak Portra ISO 400

I had an interesting winter but glad spring is coming. I'm enjoying my last semester of college, my artwork is becoming stronger and working at A&A Studios is going really well. I'm surrounded by great friends, a loving family and a place I can call home. I plan on staying in Chicago after graduation and I could not be happier with this decision.

New Collages

I'm really happy with the new work that I have been recreating. My Photography Seminar class is truly helping me find a better direction for my work and I see myself improving every time I create a new collage. I'm struggling on deciding if my collages need a title or not. If only I could find the language I feel confident in using.

Side note: I will be having a new showcase coming up! Since I am graduating from Columbia College Chicago this May all the seniors are able to have their work displayed in one of Columbia's galleries. It's a a big festival celebrating all the seniors called, Manifest. Mark your calendars: Friday May 17th 2013, from 5 -8pm! I'll be standing next to my work filled with pride and joy. I hope to see you there!!

These are some of my newest photographic collages and I'm pretty happy with them. This is the first time me using color and I plan on continuing it. Recently I got my hands on 500 found Polaroids and I am loving it! Using the wonderful bold colors in my collages is refreshing for me. Plus some of the images are just too wonderful for me to cut, I'm trying to come up with new ways of displaying Polaroids! (I'll keep you posted) Also, I have finally started brainstorming for what to call this photographic collage project that I've been doing for a year and a half. It's simple but a start, I'm thinking of calling it, Identity.
